META Scholarship
META (Multilingual Educators Transforming Achievement) is the Stanislaus County chapter of the California Association for Bilingual Education (CABE). META supports language learners, educators, parents, and communities to promote multilingual excellence and prepare future generations of linguistically and culturally competent individuals.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be residents of Stanislaus County or attend a high school in Stanislaus County
College student applicants must have completed high school in Stanislaus County
Plan to continue their education at an institution of higher education
Demonstrate academic preparation required to enter or continue higher education
Show intent to continue studying a world language and pursue a career where multilingual and multicultural competence is valuable
META members in good standing may nominate students from outside Stanislaus County.
Priority Consideration
Applicants who have earned one or more of the following credentials may receive priority in the selection process:
Seal of Biliteracy
Score of 3 or higher on an Advanced Placement (AP) world language exam
International Baccalaureate certificate or diploma
Scholarship Amount
Scholarships range from $500 to $2,000 per award.
Recipients of previous META scholarships are eligible to apply again to continue their studies.

What is your plan to continue to study the world language(s) and cultures that you have studied so far, or to learn an additional language, and how do you envision using your linguistic and multicultural competencies in your chosen professional career?
